I am a Santa Fe-based journalist, currently covering Northern New Mexico news for the Albuquerque Journal. My work regularly runs online, in the weekly Journal North edition and in the daily Albuquerque Journal.
For the Journal, I've gained experience reporting on several different beats including arts and entertainment, local business, crime, city/county politics, and more.
I moved to New Mexico in 2017 after graduating from Columbia College Chicago with a multimedia journalism degree and a minor in public relations.
Prior to graduation, I was a Special Projects intern for CBS Chicago and the Editor-in-Chief for The Columbia Chronicle, Columbia's award-winning weekly newspaper. As Editor-in-Chief, I reported on a variety of campus issues, oversaw weekly production of the 40-page newspaper, and managed a newsroom of approximately 40 students. I received multiple individual awards for my reporting and column writing. Under my leadership, the publication was awarded the Associated Collegiate Press' annual national Pacemaker Award and Illinois Collegiate Press Association's first place award for general excellence for non-daily newspapers with enrollments of more than 4,000 students.
